Gods New Years Resolution

This time last year God had already begun to work on His New Years Resolution. I was to be His project and He had already begun to do a new work in me and I wasn't even aware of it.

He said to me, David Brown ...I'm going to clear out the clutter in your life and you are going to write love letters to me in the coming year. I was , at that time, a clean slate. I wasn't very happy about being a clean slate but I was there and I had time and space to develop into something fresh and new.

I had never written love letters before, except to my special loved one but these were to be different types of love letters. These love letters were there to share my greatest love in the world with others.

At first I was only a man infatuated with my oldest love. During the course of the New Year, as my infatuation became love and my love gained depth , I wrote about it. I put my love in print and shared it with my friends and as God grew inside of me, I wrote more love letters to him and shared them all with you.

How often do we promise ourselves to make New Years Resolutions and not keep them? God keeps His and when He chooses to use us, He gives us a gift greater than life itself. He gives us Himself. He shares with us who He is and because of it , I am no longer a clean slate. I no longer have human purpose but I have God purpose. I no longer have my old desires or wants. I have His and I am happier than I've ever been.

If God chooses to use you as a New Years Resolution, go with it. There is a true change in me from Dec 31st of 08 to now. I live a new sort of life and I am happy. I've never been by myself and happy at the same time. That's because I am not alone any more. It took a New Years Resolution by God to do that.
