Where are your Roots?

David Allen Brown

Excerpt from
"Lovenotes from Above: WWSD"

II Corinthians 4:18—“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (NIV)

Say…how’s life treating you these days? Are things running smoothly for you? Don’t feel bad if a few things aren’t working out like you planned. That’s just life. Some people do seem to have longer runs of good luck than other’s though…don’t they? I wonder why that is?

I don’t think luck has anything to do with it though . I think there’s a reason that some things seem to go better for some than they do for others. Maybe a little help for some people. For others, a little more getting dinged over the head by someone a lot less hospitable than God. Satan maybe?

Everything goes right for a day or two and then…Bam? “It never last”, you say to yourself. It’s not that God's unwilling to work with us. We have to ask Him for help and how often do we actually pray for our specific needs? It could have something to do with our attitudes...maybe? It’s always going to be something.

Maybe you should spend a little more time talking to God about your life. After all, he is your Father in Heaven. Doesn't every good father want to know what's going on in His childs life? I know I have 4 kids and I always want to know how things are going for them.

Without God, you’re going to keep fighting losing battles because that’s how Satan want’s you to view your life. As one long losing battle that you blame on God. Listen, It’s not all that tough to turn around. You need a little bit of quality time with God and then put it to work and watch your life change for the good. Pick up a Bible or just call home and tell the Father how things are going and what your needs are. You won't have to leave a message on His machine. He's always at home. Give hime a Jingle.
